Hello my friends my name is Liam Kennedy and I am a mental health sufferer who has been ill for seven years and I managed to come through the worst ten week period of my life when I was going through a horrendous breakdown.I found out that I had strengths I didn’t even know I was capable of or thought was possible, I refused to throw in the towel even though the option of giving up was on a plate for me.All I had to do was let go and succumb to the illness which had corrupted my mind with so…See More

Hello my friends my name is Liam Kennedy and I am a mental health sufferer who has been ill for seven years and I managed to come through the worst ten week period of my life when I was going through a horrendous breakdown.

I found out that I had strengths I didn’t even know I was capable of or thought was possible, I refused to throw in the towel even though the option of giving up was on a plate for me.

All I had to do was let go and succumb to the illness which had corrupted my mind with so much negativity and irrational thinking but something inside was activated inside of me and I developed an unbelievable will power and mental strength.

Since the last day of that horrendous ten week ordeal it has been fourteen months and during this period of recovery a lot has happened in my life.

Obviously my biggest achievement is winning back my life and I realise that this is a rare thing as only a select few are lucky enough to get that chance but I knew the prize was too great for me to let it pass by.

Each day I encounter is a new adventure, an opportunity to continue my development and to learn and grow stronger.

I believe my dedication to remain in a positive state is imperative to my survival; my routine is vital and just adds to the recipe of being in the right frame of mind at all times.

At first it’s really hard but as Ive found, if you stick to your routine and continue to remain dedicated you will gradually develop a level of consistency where your own inner strength will grow like a muscle through the hard work that is required.

The key is to take each day at a time and enjoy each and every day, like I said each day is an adventure and an opportunity to gain knowledge and contribute to your own well-being, I have had fourteen months experience of this and I have taken full advantage of each day I have encountered.

Each day is a gift and the way you approach each day is pivotal to your mental state, through my fourteen month period of recovery Ive rapidly built up momentum and my philosophy of me being at war with my illness has only made me stronger as I ready myself for each daily battle.

I also visualise my fight against my illness as a race and it may take the rest of my life but I have come to terms with this scenario and prepared myself for this.

My hunger and my relentless desire to survive and be successful fuels me, I am addicted to positivity and obsessed with helping my fellow mental health sufferers with the knowledge and wisdom I have gained throughout my journey and will continue to do so.

It’s my passion and I have said this so many times but this is my calling, my path in which I was meant to take, I became unwell and everything that has happened has led to this point and I am a big believer in fate and It was my destiny to pass this ultimate test and come out of the experience a stronger man and now help guide and educate my fellow mental health sufferers by offering hope by motivating and hopefully inspiring each individual who reads my stories.

I have made it my mission to dedicate my time and effort to help you my friends, you are not alone and I will give you the confidence you once had or never managed to have.

Stay strong and I promise to stick to my word and do everything in my power to help you my friends.

Thankyou for taking the time to read this and I hope each one of you have managed to take something from this piece and will interpret it into your routine and this improves your wellbeing.

POSITIVITY, DESIRE, DEDICATION, BELIEF.

NEVER GIVE UP!!!

Title Advice?

Posted by Daniel Hale on December 14, 2015 at 18:29 0 Comments

I just completed, as near as I can tell, my first book: a collection stories disguised as a novel. I do currently have a working title that I was initially happy with, BUT it may now be too obscure or inapplicable.

The title as it is now is "The Psalterdemalion." This is a combination of two of my favorite words: Psalter, which is a small book of psalms, and Tatterdemalion, which is a man dressed in multicolored rags and tatters. My thinking was that the man character, a story thief,…

So I've got my stories together for my first collection, and am currently working on the connecting narrative. I haven't even thought yet how I'm gonna get this published. Gotta start thinking what I need to do.

Premonition

Premonition

Mark stood on a sea cliff top. A wave below roared in and sprayed out a ferocious impact. Its retreat left a glistening carpet of foamy shale. To his left, a slender figured girl appeared, dressed only in a skimpy black nightie. Her blonde…
